The Multiplayer is very similar to Starcraft, but the issue is that there is no difference between the races aside from visuals. Very fun nonetheless.ĭoW3 is a complicated case. The only ways I can imagine myself playing DoW2 in multiplayer is either the Co-Op Campaign, or The Last Stand. This is due to limitations in how long units take to produce, their prices, and the capacity you can have. Unfortunately, the multiplayer skirmishes are lacking, being outright boring at worst. But despite being drastically different from the first, it's still a phenomenal game. However, it was more of a Diablo-esque game rather than an RTS as the first one, which created a division in the community. As such, Soulstorm, the latest standalone expansion, is the perfect for multiplayer.ĭawn of War II's campaign is a direct continuation of the first game's, going in depth about the characters, unanswered questions and being overall fun to play. However, they are extremely loved for adding in fan-favourite races and expanding the already existing ones. It's expansions - Winter Assault, Dark Crusade and Soulstorm - have interesting campaigns as well, but not as phenomenal as the original. The first game had an amazing story with good pacing and incredible voice acting, and the multiplayer was fantastic, as every race had a unique playstyle and aesthetic. If multiplayer is the reason to play, the first Dawn of War is the only proper option.
